Pacific Energy Technologies Acquires $250m Biomass Plant In UK

Published 29 May 2013 US-based renewable energy company Pacific Green Technologies (PGTK) has acquired a $250m biomass plant through the purchase of Pacific Green Energy Parks. Pacific Green Energy Parks is the lone stakeholder of Energy Park Sutton Bridge (EPSB) which owns the planning permission to develop a 49MWe biomass facility at Sutton Bridge, Lincolnshire, UK. In addition, EPSB has also secured option to purchase the property on which the plant is planned. Commenting on the alliance, EPSB managing director Chris Williams said: “We are very pleased to be the first step within PGTK’s strategy to build a dedicated Biomass and Waste to Energy Power Plant Development Group.” The developer is planning to use ENVI-PureTM Emission Control System for removal of harmful gases and pollutants generated by the plant.
